What can the tool help me with?
Click a question to see how each feature works.
Can I see where my thesis stands — at any moment?

Yes. The dashboard shows every phase of your thesis at a glance: progress in per cent, your next milestone, active modules and days left until submission. It updates daily, so you always know what is next.

Can the tool plan my dates around the submission deadline?

The timeline wizard builds a complete schedule from your submission deadline along the critical path — every key activity gets its date. View it as a list, Gantt chart or calendar, with reminders well ahead of time.

Can the tool help me with the literature review?

Yes — live search powered by OpenAlex, with one click to find each article in your university library (Oria). Sort your findings in a literature matrix by role, and export to BibTeX, Zotero or Word.

Are there templates for the writing itself?

The writing studio has Norwegian and English templates for the usual chapters — introduction, theory, method, results, discussion and conclusion — with your project details filled in for you. Write directly in the studio and export to Word.

Can I send email from ready-made templates?

Yes — ready-made templates for the emails a thesis actually needs: requesting a supervisor meeting, contacting participants, following up politely, or thanking people afterwards. Fill in and send.

I have not found my topic or research question yet.

The topic and title wizard helps you shape a working title that names your sample, variables and context — turning a vague interest into a research question you can actually answer in the time you have.

Can it help with qualitative and quantitative analysis?

Yes — a guided test chooser: answer “what are you trying to do?” (compare groups, look at a relationship, or describe your sample) and it points to the right recognised method and explains how to interpret the result honestly.

I am dreading the presentation.

The presentation module has outlines tailored to each seminar — proposal, mid-way presentation and the defence itself — with the questions examiners and fellow students usually ask.

Does it follow Norwegian privacy rules?

Yes — a notification checklist aligned with Sikt/NSD, covering notification forms, consent, anonymisation and storage plans. Set target dates and they appear on your timeline. Your data is stored in the EU, and research data is never entered into the portal.

What about supervisor meetings?

Generate a ready Word meeting pack for your supervisor meeting — progress since last time, open action points and upcoming deadlines. Keep track of agreements and follow-ups so nothing falls through the cracks.

Where do I collect everything as I go?

Notes holds up to around 300 pages of your working material — searchable and tied to your thesis, so thoughts, quotations and drafts are all in one place.

Is there guidance if I get stuck?

Yes — a comprehensive help library with in-depth guides in Norwegian and English covering every stage from topic to defence, plus ten articles you can read freely.
